Young Men Leading Change (YMLC) is a male allyship program for racialized and newcomer boys and men. This session will invite young men in grades 9-12 to come together virtually to explore gender-based violence and healthy masculinity.

This is a multi-session program running each Thursday from 5-7pm from April 29th, until June 3rd.   Participants must register and attend all sessions. This is a closed group, so we encourage youth to register in advance to assure they don’t miss out!

This program centers the importance of male allyship in preventing gender-based violence, builds leadership skills, and engages young men in conversations that interrupt and challenge systems that cause gender-based violence. YMLC provides a safe space for young men to explore how sexual harassment, sexual assault, and intimate partner violence take place in our communities, and how we can prevent it.

Youth will receive:

  • Volunteer hours
  • Gift cards and prizes
  • Certificates
  • Opportunity to work on a self-development project
  • Great Conversations

This is a virtual program. Participants will receive the Zoom meeting information before the start of the program via email. If you have any questions, please email Male Allies Educator, Adjei Scott, at maleallies@sascwr.org.  This program is presented by the Sexual Assault Support Centre of Waterloo Region Male Allies program, and the KW Multicultural Centre.

If interested in participating, please register here.
