Learning Together to Stand Against Intolerance and Hatred
Featured Speaker – Rainer Hoss

Tuesday November 5th, 2019
7:00 to 8:30 pm
Sir John A. MacDonald Secondary School Auditorium

Rainer Hoss is the grandson of the infamous Auschwitz-Birkenau Commandant, Rudolf Hoss.  However, first and foremost Rainer is dedicated to challenging intolerance, hatred and discrimination.  In grappling with his inherited legacy, Rainer chooses to educate people around the world about the dangers of hate and combats his grandfather’s infamous legacy. In his presentation, Rainer will also discuss how and why he has been compelled to help build a more compassionate and caring world.  Rainer is the co-founder of Footsteps, an organization whose mission is “Together we try to challenge intolerance and hatred in all of its forms and seek to ensure that those who might be targeted or oppressed are supported and cared for.”

The evening will conclude with a facilitated question and answer period.  For more information, please contact Jeff Chard (SJAM Department Head of History).
