OPENING DAY SCHEDULE (UPDATE) & REPORT CARD PICKUP

FINAL 2022 REPORT CARD PICK-UP

Any students who did not pick up their final report cards in June may do so this week (Monday to Thursday from 8am to 3pm) in the LHSS main office.  Please enter the school using the front doors.

OPENING DAY SCHEDULE – WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 6TH

LHSS is running our regular 4 block schedule on opening day and all students are expected to attend.  Please see details below:

NOTE – 2023-2024 timetables will be handed out during Period A homeroom on Wednesday.  Homeroom lists will be posted in the main lobby (all students) and caf (grade 9s) prior to the start of classes on Wednesday morning.  There will be no early timetable pickup available the week before school begins.

  • Period A – 8:20-9:35
  • Period B – 9:40-10:55
  • LUNCH – 10:55-11:55
  • Period C – 11:55-1:10
  • Period D – 1:15-2:30

Grade 9 welcome activities are running during period A and B blocks:

  • 8:20-9:00 – grade 9 welcome assembly (cafeteria)
  • 9:00-9:35 – grade 9 homeroom orientation/student leader icebreakers
  • 9:40-10:55 – Chromebook distribution by period B teachers & school tours with student leaders
  • 10:55-11:55 – outdoor games & freezies for grade 9s (back tarmac and main field)

Opening Day & Weekly Schedule Update

It’s almost time for students to head back to campus for the start of the 2023-2024 school year!  We’re looking forward to the return of our Hurricanes students and staff and excited to welcome our newest grade 9s.  To help you plan for startup, here are some important updates!

OPENING DAY – WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 6TH

  • Classes begin Wed. Sept. 6th (Tues. Sept. 5th is a PD day for all students)
  • New grades 9s will have some special welcome activities planned during your period A and B blocks in the morning – more details coming shortly
  • Students in grades 10-12 will attend your normally scheduled classes

DAILY SCHEDULE – WEEKS 1 & 2

The WRDSB has adopted a week 1/week 2 schedule plan for the 2023-2024 school year.  During alternating weeks, your period C and D block classes will flip (see details below).  This is to help accommodate students who are participating in WCSSAA sports so they aren’t missing the same last period class each game day.

  • WEEK 1 SCHEDULE:
    • A (8:20-9:35), B (9:40-10:55), LUNCH (10:55-11:55), C (11:55-1:10), D (1:15-2:30)
  • WEEK 2 SCHEDULE:
    • A (8:20-9:35), B (9:40-10:55), LUNCH (10:55-11:55), D (11:55-1:10), C (1:15-2:30)
